REFLECTION OF A GRANVILLE ISLAND WEDDING AT PERFORMANCE WORKS

Part seven of a seven part series of the ins and outs of planning and executing a decor heavy DIY wedding Heather and David’s wedding at Performance Works on Granville island, as I mentioned, was a special one for me. This bride was a childhood friend who I hadn't seen in years who trusted me (a newer wedding coordinator in the grand scheme of things) to execute her wedding flawlessly. This amount of trust put into me was overwhelming and I remember finishing the wedding and just being so thankful for the opportunity. After I dropped the Uhaul full of decor off at Heather’s family’s house, I got to hug each of her family members which really, was the best...

BEHIND THE SCENES; COORDINATING AND PROBLEM SOLVING – A GRANVILLE ISLAND WEDDING AT PERFORMANCE WORKS

Part six of a seven part series of the ins and outs of planning and executing a decor heavy DIY wedding Heather and David’s Granville Island wedding was one for the books! It was a one-of-a-kind logic puzzle where we had to choreograph every movement made by our team and the rest of the vendors, and the second that one thing didn’t go to plan, we had to adjust everything. Me (Breanne) noodling away Many thanks to Capture Your Now for this photo I think a big part of the reason that more difficulty didn’t pop up for this wedding was because I held a production meeting with my leads following my details meeting with Heather. We don’t usually have...

BEHIND THE SCENES; EXECUTING MAJESTY THROUGH DECOR – A GRANVILLE ISLAND WEDDING AT PERFORMANCE WORKS

Part five of a seven part series of the ins and outs of planning and executing a decor heavy DIY wedding This Shibori inspired wedding strived to break up the mold of what the couple’s 160 guests might expect for a fantastic wedding. The couple seamlessly mixed their love of the west coast, the theatre, and international travel and expressed it through their wedding. At Performance Works on Granville Island, they created a décor plan that revolved around suspending beautiful things from the rafters and sitting guests in an unusual configuration; square tables! Not harvest tables, not round tables, square.  Beautifully captured by Amy Teixeira Photography While I enjoy writing and think I’m fair at it, I fear my word...

HEATHER & DAVID; BEACHY AND THEATRICAL RECEPTION – A GRANVILLE ISLAND WEDDING AT PERFORMANCE WORKS

Part four of a seven part series of the ins and outs of planning and executing a decor heavy DIY wedding Heather and David hosted a brilliant DIY wedding at Performance works in August 2018 and boy, did they throw one hell of a party! They hosted a bar complete with a very unique set-up, lit up the dance floor with an amazing chandelier, had a 4 course meal served family style, and towers of desserts.  Towers of desserts; featuring Croquembouche, Lint chocolate, Timbits, and Ferraro Rocher Beautifully captured by Amy Teixeira Photography Not all wedding receptions are created equal; they need to reflect the couple, but they usually follow a similar rhythm with flairs of personality thrown in. And...

HEATHER & DAVID; SETTING UP FOR THE FUTURE – A GRANVILLE ISLAND WEDDING AT PERFORMANCE WORKS

Part three of a seven part series of the ins and outs of planning and executing a decor heavy DIY wedding Heather and David’s DIY wedding at Performance Works started for their guests with their ceremony which was hosted directly outside the venue on the risers, with the couple and their wedding party at the top. Documented perfectly by Amy Teixeira Photography This ceremony was one of a kind. In such a cool way. If you haven’t been to Performance Works, outside the venue there is a gangplank from the venue onto a grassy knoll with a few steps down. When I first saw this, I thought “how theatrical would it be for a bride to walk down that gangplank...

Get to know one of my favourite Vancouver Wedding Photographers, Michele Over the past 4 years (wow! four!) I have had the extreme pleasure to work with some phenomenal vendors and I can’t help but brag about the awesome people that my clients have introduced to me. Every now and then I will be posting about a favourite vendor and a short interview that I’ve done with them.  Up next, Michele Mateus of Michele Mateus Photography. We’ve worked together on one wedding back in 2018 (Thank you so much, Rita, for introducing me to this boss!).
