What It Includes and Why You Need It
If you’re planning a wedding in Vancouver, you’ve probably heard the term day-of wedding coordination* floating around in Vancouver; and for good reason. It’s become a must-have service for couples who want their big day to run smoothly without the stress of managing every detail themselves. But what exactly does day-of coordination involve? Spoiler: it’s way more than just telling vendors where to be or just one day.

When you Book your Day-Of Wedding Coordination
When you choose ThistleBEA for your day-of wedding coordination in Vancouver, we don’t just show up on the wedding day. Our support begins as soon as you book with us. Throughout your planning, we’re available by email to help with anything from vendor recommendations, to timeline advice, and even just to listen when family stories about weddings past start getting on your nerves (because let’s face it, weddings have changed a lot in recent years).
One of the biggest benefits of hiring a day-of coordinator is how we support couples taking a DIY wedding coordination approach. We help bring your personal vision to life by managing the logistics and keeping everyone on track, so your wedding day feels calm and joyful.

As your wedding day gets closer — usually about 4 to 6 weeks out — we meet in person for a deep dive into your wedding details. This includes everything from decor plans to family dynamics. From there, we create a customized timeline that fits your day perfectly, with individual versions tailored for each vendor. Whether it’s your hair and makeup team or your DJ, everyone knows exactly when and where they need to be. We also run your rehearsal, so everyone feels confident and prepared.
On The Wedding Day
On the day itself, we’re onsite for wedding decor setup Vancouver, making sure every detail looks just right. We also handle vendor management for weddings, fielding calls and resolving issues behind the scenes so you don’t have to worry about a thing. From managing last-minute hiccups during the ceremony to ensuring your photographer captures those first dance photos before they leave, we’re working hard all day to keep everything on track.
Of course, the biggest challenges are usually guests and the sun. Moving people around on time can feel like herding cats, and speeches often run longer than planned — but we handle it all with a smile. Plus, timing the perfect sunset light for photos is always a priority.
We stay until the end of the night, around 1 or 2 a.m., making sure all vendors have packed up and the venue is cleaned according to their standards. It’s a long day, but helping couples enjoy their wedding without stress is why we love what we do.
If you’re considering booking, we recommend securing your date about a year in advance to ensure availability. When you schedule an initial consult with us, we’ll walk you through your entire wedding day plan and start crafting a timeline that fits your unique vision.

**Just a note that Wedding Day-of Coordinator (or DOC) is a misnomer; we prefer the term “wedding coordinator” because it’s more of an accurate description
